The digital license is part of the baggage brought in by the Digital
Age. In the good old days, all we had to try to master was the
Copyright Law. We would acquire a book or a journal, post and monitor
a "fair-use" photocopy policy, and go on about our activities.
With each delivery of digital information, there arrives a separate set
of licensing terms with its own private "copyright" terms imposed by
contract. In the midst of this we suddenly appreciate how simple life
used to be.
This course helps to bring us up to speed in the age of digital licensing. It provides a primer on:
