The Queen Mary is the world's largest luxury liner. Sailing into
Long Beach on December 9, 1967, it became a permanent fixture.
Today, the 55-acre Queen Mary Seaport, where the Queen Mary is
housed, includes the 365-stateroom Hotel Queen Mary; the Queen's
Marketplace and a shopping and dining area. The Queen Mary is
truly a "must see" in the City of Long Beach.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is one of the largest aquariums in
the United States. Its nearly 1,000 species fill 19 major habitats
and 32 focus exhibits and take visitors on a journey throughout
the Pacific Ocean's three regions: Southern California/Baja, the
Tropical Pacific, and the Northern Pacific.

The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center facilities
include the Long Beach Arena and Exhibition Halls, the Terrace
and Center Theaters, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms. The Convention
Center is the home of the Long Beach Symphony and the Long Beach
Ice Dogs, a member of the ECHL, the AA hockey league.

Acres of books is a very special bookstore within walking distance
from the Meeting Site. It is California's largest second-hand
bookstore with over 1 million books in stock. It has been located
at 240 Long Beach Blvd. since 1960. Acres of Books is a haven
for book lovers from around the Country and the World. The store
has also been a second home to a number of well-known writers.
Ray Bradbury (1920- ) the author of The Martian Chronicles, The
IIllustrated Man, Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes
and many other classics is our Number-one Booster and we owe him
a world of thanks. Upton Sinclair (1878-1968) was a Long Beach
resident along with his wife Mary Craig. They lived in a modest
house at 10 58th Place where he wrote Oil, which was inspired
by the Signal Hill oil boom of the 20s. James Hilton (1900-1954)
became a Long Beach resident and an Acres of Books fan when he
came to California to be a Hollywood screenwriter. He was also
the author of numerous works such as Lost Horizon, Goodbye, Mr.
Chips and Random Harvest .

City Place is a shopping center within walking distance of the
Meeting Site. CityPlace is an urban retail development in the
heart of downtown Long Beach. It covers eight city blocks and
features Wal-Mart, Nordstrom Rack, Ross Dress For Less, Albertsons
and Sav-on Drugs. CityPlace is located at 5th Street and Pine
Avenue.
