{"id":5680,"date":"2015-09-01T14:56:45","date_gmt":"2015-09-01T21:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mlgsca.mlanet.org\/newsletter\/?p=5680"},"modified":"2015-09-01T14:56:45","modified_gmt":"2015-09-01T21:56:45","slug":"apply-now-for-mlgsca-professional-development-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mlgsca.mlanet.org\/newsletter\/?p=5680","title":{"rendered":"Apply now for MLGSCA Professional Development Award!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To support professional development activities including attendance at classes, conferences and meetings;<\/p>\n<p>To provide MLGSCA members with the opportunity to increase their competence in the theoretical, administrative and\/or technical aspects of librarianship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibity:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The applicant must:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Be a regular member of MLGSCA;<\/li>\n<li>Hold a graduate degree in library\/information science;<\/li>\n<li>Be a practicing medical librarian with at least two years of professional experience;<\/li>\n<li>Be willing to write at least a 500 word summary on the event for the MLGSCA blog;<\/li>\n<li>Not have received this award in the past three years.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Consideration will be given to outstanding candidates who do not meet all of the eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specifics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awards range from $100 &#8211; $500.<br \/>\nMore than one award may be granted in a year.<br \/>\nAwards Committee screens applications and recommends candidate(s) to the Advisory Council of MLGSCA which has authority to grant the award(s).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Print out the<a href=\"http:\/\/mlgsca.mlanet.org\/forms\/profdev.pdf\">application form<\/a>\u00a0and complete it.<br \/>\n(A paper copy of the form is printed in the MLGSCA Directory)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mlgsca.mlanet.org\/forms\/profdev_Word.docx\">A MS Word version of the form<\/a>can be filled out online and submitted as an attachment to the Committee Chair, Laura Stubblefield (see address on form).<\/li>\n<li>Forms are also available from the chair of the Awards Committee, or from the Secretary of MLGSCA.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Deadline: September 15th<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Purpose: To support professional development activities including attendance at classes, conferences and meetings; To provide MLGSCA members with the opportunity to increase their competence in the theoretical, administrative and\/or technical aspects of librarianship.
