I have been interested in the health sciences as a career option since high school. When I applied to college, I got accepted into the combined BS/PharmD accelerated program for aspiring Pharmacists. Even though I ultimately decided to switch majors, I still enjoyed the life and health sciences, and volunteered at my local VA hospital. At the same time, I was working as a student supervisor at the Science & Engineering Library at the University at Buffalo. Eventually I moved into the Health Sciences Library, where I was exposed to health sciences librarianship.

What is your current position? Health & Life Sciences Informationist at the Louise M. I also value being both a life sciences and health sciences information specialist. This presents both an opportunity and a challenge for libraries and librarians; both from pure budgetary concern, to broader implications for the dissemination of science.

Please provide a link that made you think (an article, video, blog post, other webpage, etc. that you found to be interesting or thought-provoking): Tough, P.
