{"id":6101,"date":"2020-06-11T15:22:31","date_gmt":"2020-06-11T22:22:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mlgsca.mlanet.org\/newsletter\/?p=6101"},"modified":"2020-06-11T15:22:31","modified_gmt":"2020-06-11T22:22:31","slug":"mlgsca-library-staff-excellence-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mlgsca.mlanet.org\/newsletter\/?p=6101","title":{"rendered":"MLGSCA Library Staff Excellence Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On behalf of the Awards Committee:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nomination deadline is <a href=\"x-apple-data-detectors:\/\/0\">July 1st<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"x-apple-data-detectors:\/\/0\">.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><br \/>\nThe purpose of the MLGSCA Library Staff Excellence Award is to honor an outstanding library staff in a health sciences library\u00a0<em><strong>and<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0to recognize the critical role and important contributions library staff make to the development and evolution of modern health sciences libraries and librarianship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria<\/strong><br \/>\nConsiderations\/criteria for nominating a library staff for this award include, but are not limited to, a library staff without a Library Master&#8217;s degree that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides consistently, excellent library service.<\/li>\n<li>Continually suggests improvements or innovative ideas and is willing to take the lead in making good suggestions a reality.<\/li>\n<li>Encourages and promotes the library\u2019s mission, facilities and resources.<\/li>\n<li>Enhances the promotion and marketing endeavors of the library through facilitating productive, effective communication between users and the library.<\/li>\n<li>Is professionally curious and is willing to take risks, even if that means moving beyond their comfort zone.<\/li>\n<li>Is a lifelong learner and regularly attends training or other local or regional events to improve their skills and knowledge base.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nominations<\/strong><br \/>\nNominations can be made by any MLGSCA member and sent to the Awards Committee chair. Please use the available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mlgsca.mlanet.org\/beta\/images\/MLGSCA_library_staff_excellence_nomination_form.pdf\">form<\/a>.\u00a0<strong>Nomination deadline is <a href=\"x-apple-data-detectors:\/\/1\">July 1st<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"x-apple-data-detectors:\/\/1\">.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Frequency and Number of Awards<\/strong><br \/>\nThe\u00a0MLGSCA Library Staff Excellence Award is given annually to one outstanding library staff in a health sciences library.\u00a0 If there are no suitable candidates nominated, the award is not given.
