First, let me start by saying what an honor it is to serve as MLGSCA president for the 2009-2010 year.\u00c2\u00a0 I thank you for your vote of confidence and look forward to what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ahead!<\/p>\n

\"LisaNow, on to what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ahead!\u00c2\u00a0 Much is already in the works for the 2009-2010 year for MLGSCA.\u00c2\u00a0 The Advisory Council (AC) has already met twice for the transition and budget meetings.\u00c2\u00a0 I am pleased to say we have several new faces on the AC this year including Paul Bielman (EIRC), Emily Brennan (Newsletter), Steve Clancy (Public Relations), Molly Harrington (Treasurer), Cynthia Porter (Secretary) and Mary White (Government Relations\/Bylaws).\u00c2\u00a0 I want to thank all the AC members for their continued support of MLGSCA.\u00c2\u00a0 Feel free to contact me or any AC member with any questions or concerns you might have regarding MLGSCA.<\/p>\n

Next in the year ahead is the Fall CE.\u00c2\u00a0 Save the dates of October 26th in AZ and November 20th in CA.\u00c2\u00a0 The AZ course will be held at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale and the CA course will be held at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles.\u00c2\u00a0 The program, titled \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Leveraging Medical Library Services to Strengthen CME\u00e2\u20ac\u009d will be presented by Ysabel Bertolucci and colleagues from Kaiser Permanente in Northern and Southern California.\u00c2\u00a0 The CA course will be held in conjunction with the Southern California Medical Education Council (SCMEC).\u00c2\u00a0 Any of you doing both CME and Library will definitely want to attend.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Mark your calendars!<\/p>\n

Also mark your calendars for our 2010 Joint Meeting with the Northern California and Nevada Medical Library Group (NCNMLG) January 27-30, 2010 at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa in Glendale, AZ .\u00c2\u00a0 The planning is well under way headed by quad chairs Ellen Aaronson, Rebecca Birr, Judy Bube and Kathy Zeblisky.\u00c2\u00a0 If you haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t checked out the website to see what exciting things are in store, here is the link for the Joint Meeting: http:\/\/www.mlgsca.mlanet.org\/jtmtg2010\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Congratulations are in order to the following MLGSCA members who are on the slate for the 2010-2011 MLA election:\u00c2\u00a0 Ellen Aaronson and Rikke Ogawa are 2 of 4 candidates for 2 spots on the MLA Board of Directors; Janis Brown and Jacqueline Doyle are candidates for the MLA Nominating Committee.\u00c2\u00a0 Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s remember to support our members and vote when the MLA election takes place November 4-December 8, 2009!<\/p>\n

In closing, it looks to me as though we have a great year ahead!\u00c2\u00a0 I hope you all agree and will join in and participate in all that is offered to you through MLGSCA.\u00c2\u00a0 After all, this is your association and it is what you make it!<\/p>\n
