Job Opportunity: USC Norris Medical Library

The University of Southern California (USC) Norris Medical Library seeks an energetic, innovative, service-oriented individual for an Information Specialist position in the Education and Research Services section. The Norris Medical Library is an academic research library serving the Schools and Departments of Medicine, Pharmacy, Occupational and Physical Therapy. The library has a strong emphasis on providing access to a wide variety of electronic information resources, and educating faculty, students, and staff through seminars on Internet resources, presentation software, database searching, evidence-based health care, personal digital assistants, and bibliographic management. The library contains 176,000 volumes and receives 500 current print journals and 2,568 current electronic journals. Users include medical, pharmacy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy students, graduate students in the biomedical and biological sciences, 1,260 full-time faculty, and a large number of other health professionals. The library staff of 38.5 FTE includes 13 librarians/professionals. For additional information, see the library’s website.

Qualifications:

Salary/Status: Starting salary depends on qualifications and experience, minimum starting salary is $50,000. This position is in a continuing-appointment track, the USC Libraries equivalent to tenure.
