LIME Webinar: Interprofessional Education: Case Reports on Libraries Supporting IPE

Posted on July 18, 2012 by Lisa Federer | No Comments

The Libraries in Medical Education (LiME) interest group of the AAMC’s Western Group on Educational Affairs (WGEA) will sponsor a free webinar on Monday, July 30, 2012, from 12-1 pm PDT. The Center for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education defines IPE as a situation where “two or more professionals learn with, from and about each other to improve collaboration and the quality of care.”  Although this education will occur in different ways at different institutions, it usually involves respectful communication, collaboration, and experience on interprofessional teams.

Librarians from three universities will explain the history of IPE and relate their experiences in supporting IPE at their individual institutions.  Featured librarians include our very own MLGSCA president Emily Brennan of University of Southern California Norris Medical Library, Lisa Traditi of the Health Sciences Library at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus, and Alice Weber of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah.

There is no cost to attend, but the phone call may be long-distance for some (thus phone charges).  Please call (605) 477-2100 and use access code 717046# when prompted.  For web login, use https://cc.readytalk.com/r/qh4hlgbrye2w. Advanced registration is not required.
