Message from President-Elect Kathleen Carlson

Thank you all for placing your faith in me and the running of MLGSCA. I hope I can fulfill the expectations that you have in the chapter presidency. With the help of more than two hundred dedicated members MLGSCA continues to assist librarians and other, information professionals and to promote excellence in professional achievement and leadership. Our organization is dedicated to supporting health sciences research and patient care, and to enhance the quality of health care, education and research. MLGSCA is one of the 13 MLA chapters that make up the larger parent organization. MLGSCA can only be valuable if its members continue to volunteer their time, expertise and to contribute to the organization’s success. I understand that most MLGSCA members have positions in hospitals, universities and colleges and that is their primary focus, but I call on MLGSCA’s silent majority, and those new to the profession, to volunteer as chair persons, to work on committees and workgroups, and to continue to make MLGSCA a strong chapter. *Note for clarification: Kathleen Carlson is the current President-Elect. The current election for President-Elect is for the upcoming 2014-2015 term, when Kathleen will be President of MLGSCA.
