MLA Seeks Applications for JMLA Editor

Help shape the direction of and document advances in the health sciences library profession as JMLA editor. MLA’s peer-reviewed, scholarly journal seeks a new volunteer editor for a three-year term starting at the May 2014 annual meeting with responsibility for issues published in 2015-2017.

JMLA is the definitive source of information about the latest technologies, innovations, and research in the health information field. The editor provides leadership to a team of volunteer associate editors and editorial board members and peer reviewers to publish the best in health sciences library research and scholarship. JMLA and its predecessor publications have been published continuously since 1898. JMLA is published quarterly with online portions published in advance of full journal content.

JMLA is an open access journal with digital archives available on PubMed Central. Health information professionals depend on this valuable forum for current research and information about biomedical library management, technology, administration, and issues of importance to health sciences librarianship. Regular features include comment and opinion, book reviews, and electronic resources reviews. Headquarters staff assists the editor in the logistics of manuscript review and oversees all copy editing, production, and mailing functions.
