Position Description:
The Scripps Research Institute is currently looking for a Library Director to provide leadership, policy and administration of the current library services, systems and collections, and advocate and articulate future program development for the core needs of five distinct customer groups which utilize the services at the Kresge Library in La Jolla, CA and the Elizabeth M. Fargo Library in Jupiter, FL: 1) The Scripps Research Institute, CA; 2) The Scripps Research Institute, FL; 3) Scripps Green Hospital; 4) Scripps Clinic; and 5) TSRI Graduate Program (in CA and FL).
The Library Director will:
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, students and staff.
- Provide vision for library personnel to advance the programs of a rapidly evolving research and information environment.
- Manage department employees which includes assistants, coordinators and librarians.
- Communicate with fairness and transparency to effectively determine the staff’s current responsibilities, and to foster the staff’s input regarding their desire for new opportunities.
