Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks for immediate consideration a Medical Librarian for a long-term part-time (10 hours per week/40 hours per month) position at a hospital in West Covina, CA. Responsibilities include providing reference and research assistance to the hospital staff and maintaining the library. This is a temporary position of indefinite length.
Responsibilities:
- Provide reference/research assistance to the hospital staff using print and electronic resources
- Handling inter-library loans via Docline
- Processing and categorizing of new materials received into the library
- Monitoring books, supplements and periodicals for missing issues and contact vendors for replacements
- Maintaining the book and journal collection
- Attend designated committee meetings
- Perform additional duties as needed or requested
Qualifications:
- MLS from an accredited ALA institution or equivalent professional experience. New MLS graduates are welcome to apply
- Must have direct experience with medical library resources/services, specifically PubMed and Docline
- Experience with other electronic resources such as UpToDate, MDConsult, etc. is desirable
