Attending the 2010 MLGSCA/NCNMLG Joint Meeting? If so, consider volunteering to be an Official Blogger for the meeting! Deadline to express interest in being a Joint Meeting Official Blogger is January 15th, 2010.
Interested, but need more information before you commit? Consider some of the benefits:
- Share your perspective! Get your take on the meeting’s happenings and content — papers, posters, CE, speakers, and social events — out there for your colleagues to read and contemplate.
- As easy as writing an email and attaching files — Don’t have to worry about learning the blog system, WordPress; just write up your post in an email message and attach a picture.
- Keep the conversations going long after the meeting is over! Inspire your colleagues to share what they learned at the meeting too by encouraging them to comment on your posts.
- For AHIP, you will receive 5 AHIP points for blog posts written and posted to MLGSCA Link (5 points per year regardless of number of blog posts, if not writing as part of committee work).
- You’ll have a special blogger designation for your badge!
Details
- We are looking for 4-8 blogger volunteers to write at least one post each day over the four-day period (for whichever days you are attending).
- We are also interested in having volunteers write posts 1-week, 1-month, and 6 months after the meeting to discuss the implementation of information learned, etc.
- The posts will be attributed to the author (name, title, and institution) and be integrated into MLGSCA Link with the permanent category of “JM2010†as well as activity (e.g., contributed papers, CE, etc.) and content (e.g., EBM) categories.
- Posts will be emailed to a listserv where the MLGSCA Newsletter Committee co-chairs and members will review and edit and post your articles to the newsletter blog.
- There is free wireless access in the hotel lobby and conference areas for those who are bringing their own laptop. For those who are interested in blogging their meeting experience but will not have a laptop at the meeting, there will be a laptop or computer available for you to use to submit your articles.
By January 15th, email Emily Brennan (ebrennan@usc.edu) to indicate which meeting events and activities you are interested in covering. Also, include whether you will have a laptop with you at the meeting. Selections will be announced January 18th, 2010. For more information, please contact Emily Brennan.
