MLGSCA/NCNMLG JM2010: Invited Speaker, Connie Schardt, AHIP

The 2010 Joint Meeting will feature CE classes, exhibits, contributed posters and papers, and a variety of invited speakers.  This year’s invited speakers are Nadine Ellero, Keith Frey, David Rothman, David Levy and Connie Schardt.

Connie Schardt is the Associate Director for Public Services at Duke University Medical Center Library, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and current President of MLA.

One of her interests is EBM and she is involved with this concept in the Medical School curriculum at Duke University. She works with the clinical faculty to co-direct the EBM course for 3rd year medical school students. She also co-directs a four-day annual workshop, “Teaching and Leading: a Workshop for Teachers and Champions of Evidence Based Medicine,” designed to help clinical leaders and educators enhance their EBM skills.

Connie will provide  the MLA Update on Friday, January 29 at noon and will also give a speech titled  “EBM and the Medical Librarian: Now More Than Ever” on January 29 at 2 pm.  Read more about Connie and her professional activities and interests on the UNC School of Information and Library Science website.
