By Jeanette de Richemond, MLA MIS Membership Chair

MLA’s annual meeting gives MLA members and affiliated professionals a chance to share ideas, hear from experts, see the latest products, and network!  Connect with MLA’s twenty-three sections at the Section Shuffle on Thursday, May 25 from 5-6pm. All MLA members are welcome; no advance signup required.

Known for its technology trends presentations at Annual Meetings, the MLA Medical Informatics Section has much to offer, including the listserv, blog, resources on self-education, contacts with others who have similar interests, and other resources.

The Medical Informatics Section, established in 1988, provides a forum for education and communication among medical librarians, health professionals and other information sciences professionals.

Although definitions vary, medical informatics focuses on broad-based computer applications involved in the transfer of information for health care and for the education, research, and administration that support it.

For more information, visit the Medical Informatics Section webste.
