Our 2015-2016 MLGSCA election concluded April 3. We had a participation rate of 52%, with 75 out of 145 members voting.
The elected candidates are:

We have moved the site from Dreamweaver to Joomla, which is free, open, and has a responsive template (so you’ll be able to view it on mobile devices). Winner of the Majors/MLA Chapter Project of the Year

It is with esteemed privilege that we announce that MLGSCA has received the 2015 Majors/MLA Chapter Project of the Year award for the second year in a row! In November 13-15, 2013, our chapter participated in an outreach project to promote information on the Affordable Care Act to public and community college librarians attending the Arizona Library Association (AzLA) Annual Conference in Scottsdale/Fountain Hills, Arizona. MLGSCA members collaborated with CABL volunteers to distribute a list of ACA web resources, plus MLGSCA tote bags, notepads, and pens to conference attendees. As a result, our chapter gained exposure to about 40% of conference attendees as well as developed relationships with a the regional library chapter in Arizona.
The award will be presented at the MLA’15 Austin, Texas, “Librarians without Limits” Awards Luncheon on May 18, 2015. Thanks to all who have participated in the success of this event!

Dear MLGSCA Members,
The Nominating Committee is tasked with finding eligible candidates for the upcoming 2015 election. We have identified a few candidates, however, we would like to hear from you by either self-nomination (perfectly acceptable – in fact highly encouraged!) or sharing a colleagues name for possible inclusion on the upcoming ballot.
We are seeking to fill the following offices:
President-Elect/ Continuing Education Chair: 3 year term (President-elect, President, Immediate Past-President)

It might seem overwhelming to run for office, but I can speak from personal experience serving as MLGSCA President for two terms . Being an officer of the Chapter has provided me with a tremendous amount of professional growth and allowed me to make some great friends!
